My philosophy on teaching is one that seeks to empower my students to learn and grow. I believe that education is a life-long journey and does not end at the classroom or with academia. Creativity is so crucial to the development of the mind, and especially the young mind. Creativity is not just about the next great author, studio artist, musician, or actor/actress, but is also about the next breakthrough researcher, scientist, soldier, or many other jobs. Creativity is about harnessing the ability to think “outside the box” and find ways to overcome obstacles to achieving whatever task or challenge you encounter in life.
A little about me: I am Dallas born and raised and a veteran who served honorably! I currently hold a Bachelor in Fine Arts from the University of North Texas and am in the midst of a dual Master’s degree program at the University of Dallas. I am a committee chair for a local gallery in Dallas and a partner in a growing organization dedicated to helping empower the North Texas creative community. I also dabble in tech business and am a practicing studio artist.
